About

He represents a prestigious list of major literary authors and is known for his commitment to serious literary fiction and non-fiction.
Currently Looking For
Straus is primarily focused on his existing clients and is selective about taking on new authors. He is interested in literary fiction of the highest quality and serious non-fiction, including history, biography, and cultural commentary. He is associated with ambitious, enduring works rather than purely commercial projects.
Submission Guidelines
Given his senior standing and full client list, Straus may have limited availability for unsolicited submissions. Writers should check the RCW website for current guidance. If submitting, a detailed query letter demonstrating literary seriousness would be appropriate along with sample pages.
