Tara Gavin is an editorial director at Crooked Lane Books and Alcove Press, imprints known for publishing commercial fiction, particularly mysteries and thrillers. She has a long editorial career in commercial fiction and has worked with a range of crime and women's fiction authors. Her role is editorial rather than a traditional literary agent role.
Currently Looking For
Tara spent years at Harlequin Books, where she pursued her love of women’s fiction, working with several New York Times bestselling authors, including Diana Palmer, Heather Graham and Lindsay McKenna. At Kensington Books, Tara still worked with bestselling women’s fiction authors, but also was able to pursue her love of mysteries and suspense. Tara joined Crooked Lane Books / Alcove Press in 2020, where the best of all worlds came together. For Alcove Press: For Crooked Lane: Nothing makes Tara happier than delving into a book with a complex, emotional plot. Fun facts about me: I work with many, many talented writers—Felix Francis, Lucy Connelly, David Nix, JB Abbott, Ellie Brannigan, Carrie Talick, Cate Malone (CE Murphy). I love all my authors, and hope to add many more in the coming years!
