I’m an editor at Chronicle Books, acquiring mostly middle-grade novels and graphic novels for early readers, middle grade, and YA. I’m always on the lookout for stories that have a compelling voice and characters that stay with you long after you turn the final page. Whether it be heartfelt contemporary fiction or funky genre fiction, I’m most drawn to stories that feature a diverse cast of queer characters, monsters of any kind, unexpected twists, or tug-at-your-heartstrings emotions. Genre-wise, I especially love horror, literary fiction, mysteries, romance, and stories that blend a variety of genres together or defy expectations. A few topics I’d love to see:
