Currently Looking For
I am Zoie Janelle Konneker (she/her), an Assistant Editor at Peachtree Publishing Company. At this time I am seeking children’s fiction for middle grade, young teen, and young adult audiences. I am looking for timeless, emotionally evocative, and fast-paced books to add to the Peachtree and Peachtree Teen lists. I am looking for standalone novels that make me laugh and/or cry—especially those that do both! I prefer immersive writing that amplifies the protagonist’s unique voice. I look for manuscripts that are equally plot and character-driven, fast-paced, and most importantly, high stakes. The narrative should contain realistic, culturally relevant themes. Coming-of-age stories with strong-willed, messy, emotional protagonists are my favorite! Projects set in an often overlooked or whitewashed era of history that are told from an underrepresented point of view are especially interesting to me. I am always seeking stories that highlight the unique, authentic perspectives and experiences of the LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, neurodivergent, and differently-abled communities. Genres I enjoy: My dream projects include: Bonus points for: I’m not the best fit for: Fun facts about me: I am happy to be called “Zoie Janelle” or simply “Zoie.” Please use she/her pronouns for me! I am a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and identify as neurodivergent. I am an animal person and often post about my foster cats/dogs on social media. Beware!
