Currently Looking For
I am a Literary Agent and the Rights Manager at CookeMcDermid. In addition to representing the agency’s clients outside of North America, I represent a small, selective list of clients directly. I am primarily seeking to represent authors of colour and other marginalized writers working in commercial and genre fiction (science fiction & fantasy, romance, horror, etc.) and non-fiction. In fiction, across genres, I am drawn to character-driven stories, featuring complex, nuanced protagonists, unlikely heroes, anti-heroes, and anti-villains. In non-fiction, I am keenly interested in well-researched but accessible works exploring systemic issues and how they play out in our day-to-day lives. I am primarily interested in works for adult, new adult, and (very selectively) older YA audiences. July 2026 UPDATE: Everything that I have shared here in previous years still stands and I’m keen to see more of it, particularly from marginalized creators. about marginalized characters. Like many people (at least in my circle), I’ve been suffering from the Great Reading Slump of 2026 when it comes to my non-work reading. Here are the books that have managed to break through the slump and sustain my attention, which are a good indicator of what my more granular interest are in the moment: In addition to the books, here are some film/TV/misc. highlights: 2025 UPDATE: 2024 UPDATE: Fun facts about me: I am a reformed (. . . kinda) theatre kid and I love theatre and the performing arts! Some favourites include: SIX the musical; & Juliet; The Phantom of the Opera; Hamilton. Prior to joining the publishing industry, I worked in the non-profit, arts, and culture sectors. Outside of my role at the agency, I am also one of the co-founders of BIPOC of Publishing in Canada and a board member at Paprika Theatre Festival.
