ARC Appeal represents the growing category of independent ARC team managers—often experienced book bloggers or bookstagrammers who build and manage private ARC reader communities on behalf of authors for a fee or in exchange for reciprocal promotion. These managers typically maintain Facebook groups, email lists, or Discord servers populated with vetted readers, and personally coordinate ARC delivery, reminders, and review verification. They are especially valued by romance, fantasy, and thriller authors who want a hands-on, relationship-driven approach rather than a platform-automated system.

NetGalley is a premier digital platform used by publishers and authors to distribute advance review copies to professional readers including librarians, booksellers, educators, journalists, and bloggers. For authors who cannot afford a full individual NetGalley listing, co-op options allow multiple authors to share the cost of a listing managed through cooperatives or publishing service companies. This makes the platform accessible to indie and small-press authors seeking professional-grade ARC coverage.
